Islamic Quotes - Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah
Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah - rahimahullaah - said:

“Get yourself out of this limited world of diseases to the wide world of the hereafter, which has what the eyes have never seen. Nothing is impossible there, and love is not lost. O you who sold yourself for the sake of something that will cause you suffering and pain, and which will also lose its beauty, you sold the most precious item for the cheapest price, as if you neither knew the value of the goods nor the meanness of the price. Wait until you come on the Day of mutual loss and gain and you will discover the injustice of this contract. “There is no God but Allah” is something that Allah is buying. Its price is Paradise, and the Messenger is its agent, and you will be pleased to part with a small part of this worldly life to obtain it. The part you lose is a small part of something that as a whole is not worth a mosquito’s wing.”

Islamic Quotes - Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah said:

"O you of little resolve, where do you stand upon this path? Adam found it difficult and Nuh lamented because of it, while Allaah’s Khaleel Ibraaheem was thrown into a pit of fire due to it. Isma’eel was laid upon his side ready to be sacrificed for its sake, and while upon it Yusuf was sold for a cheap price and then falsely cast into prison for many years. Zakariyah was sawed in half, and Yahya was slaughtered due to it. Ayyub suffered great distress, while Dawood cried copiously, and ‘Isaa cured the wretched poor of their diseases and walked with wild beasts due to it. And how many, how many forms of difficulty and hardship did the Messenger Muhammad (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) face while proceeding upon it – yet you live through amusements and distractions!"

Islamic Quotes - Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah

Imam Ibnul Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (rahimahullah) said:

“[Such a person] does not become disheartened by those who differ from and oppose him, as they are lesser in importance and significance, even if they might be greater in number, as some of the Salaf said: “Traverse the paths of the truth, and do not be discouraged by the small number of people who do the same.” Every time you feel disheartened by your being alone on this path, then look to those who came before you and strive to catch up with them, and turn away from everyone else, as they will not benefit you in the least with Allah. If you happen to see them somewhere along the path that you are upon, then do not turn to look at them, for if you do so, they will distract you and simply delay your progress.”

Islamic Quotes - Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah

Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya (rahimahullah) said:

“Doubtless, a heart grows tarnished like brass or silver, and its polish is by remembrance, which may make it shine like a crystal mirror.  So when one neglects the remembrance it tarnishes, and when he returns it shines.  Since the heart is tarnished by two things- heedlessness and sin- it is polished by two things: remembrance and asking forgiveness.”

-Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya, The Invocation of God.

Islamic Quotes - Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah
Ibn Al-Qayyim, Rahimahullah, says about the hypocrites:

"Whoever falls prey to the claws of their doubts will have his faith shredded to pieces; whoever allows his heart to open to their vile tribulations will find himself in a burning furnace; and whoever lends an ear to their deceptions will find them coming between him and firm belief. Indeed the corruption they cause on earth is great but most people are unaware..."

Islamic Quotes - Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah
Ibn Al-Qayyim, Rahimahullah, says about the hypocrites:

"The disease of desires and doubts has consumed their hearts and destroyed them, and evil objectives have permeated their motivations and intentions and corrupted them. Their corruption is so severe that they are flung to perdition, and the doctors of the religion are unable to cure them..."
